Youth Case Worker

Youth Case worker 21 hrs per week

Riverwood Community Centre ‘s youth service is looking for an enthusiastic case worker who will be willing to introduce young people into a positive change.

In Our Targeted Earlier Intervention program we are looking for a Youth case worker who would be willing to work closely with the TEI team aiming to making a difference in young people’s lives, this could be you!

The Youth service is looking for an energetic candidate, willing to make a positive change in young people’s journey with the ability to support, strengthen their ability for a positive change.

The potential candidate will work closely with individual through assessment, case management and referral to overcome challenges to barriers. This role involves working with families and children/ young people in both individual and group based activities with an early intervention and prevention focus.

Essential Criteria
•A thorough understanding of the contemporary issues facing families and children/young people
•Demonstrated ability to implement case plan, case management for families, children and young people with complex needs.
•Strong knowledge and understanding of working with families, children and young people from diverse backgrounds.
•Demonstrated experience working with families, children and young people who have experienced significant challenges.
•Proven ability to build rapport and motivate young people
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Demonstrated competent practice regarding professional boundaries
•Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs

Desirable Criteria
•At least two years’ experience working with disadvantaged CALD families and young people
•Experience in developing and implementing group activities
•Knowledge and understanding of the Targeted Early Intervention program
•Knowledge of child protection legislation
•Current First Aid qualifications
•Current Driver’s Licence

The youth case worker is a part-time contracted position for 21 hours per week with negotiable salary depending on experience and PBI salary packaging available.
