Casual Youth Workers – Late Night Drop-In


Riverwood Community Centre’s Youth Service supports young people to make positive life choices in order to achieve better outcomes.

We are looking for experienced and committed Youth Workers to help us deliver our Late Night Drop-In program that operates every second Thursday evening at the Riverwood Community Centre.

Primary Responsibility:

Co-facilitate the Riverwood Community Centre Late Night Drop-In which operates fortnightly on Thursdays from 5.30pm – 9.00pm for vulnerable young people in the Riverwood and surrounding areas. This includes providing supervision and engaging with young people, organising and participating in activities and workshops, oversighting the preparation and provision of food and offering general support for young people aged 12 – 25 years.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Associate Diploma in Youth Work or Community Service
  • Ability to build rapport and motivate young people
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • An understanding of the issues facing vulnerable young people
  • Experience working with vulnerable young people
  • Ability to demonstrate competent practice regarding professional boundaries
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check
