Long Day Care

The Riverwood Children’s Centre offers long day care for 29 children from birth to 5 years of age. The Centre operates from 7.00am to 6.00pm on Monday to Friday.

The service caters for children’s nutritional meals and provides- Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon tea daily. We ensure our meals are balanced by the 5 food groups and prepared by a local Cook.

We provide an educational play based curriculum that caters for children’s individual developmental needs and interests. Our preschool program operates daily as an emergent curriculum based on the Early Years Learning Framework where children’s wellbeing, respect and inclusion are respected, valued and integral part of our program.

Our service caters for a diverse range of families where we value and encourage family participates as partnerships with the families and local community are our focus.

The Centre’s qualified and sensitive staff provide programs that are based on children’s developmental needs and interests and reflect the diversity of the local area. Our Centre meets the requirements of the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority.

The Centre’s programs are based on children’s developmental needs and interests and recognise the multicultural character of the Riverwood community. We develop daily learning programs to progress children’s learning skills, enhance their physical development and prepare children for their schooling years. Working with parents, we provide a safe and stimulating environment to help children relate sensitively with others.

We are a part of the Riverwood Community Centre so community engagement with all the groups makes our service unique. The children love a visit to the aged care, library and community sustainable gardens to support our community activities and expose our children to the world.

We provide regular feedback to parents about their child’s progress and the operation of the Centre through regular parent information sessions.

Empowering children to become strong, articulate, socially competent members of our community is our vision.
