Riverwood Children’s Centre is a community based, non-profit organization and has operated under this name since 1979. It is funded by the Department of Community Services.
The Centre offers quality care and education for twenty 0-5 year olds per day. It operates Monday to Friday from 9am to 4.30pm. We offer care for a block of 3 days or a block of 2 days only.We work very closely with Riverwood Family Support Service, located on the premises.

Riverwood OOSH Service
About the Service
The Riverwood OOSH (Out Of School Hours) service aims to provide high quality care and a fun, interactive centre for children attending schools in Riverwood and the immediate surrounding suburbs. Children attending will have the opportunity to create crafts, play games and meet new friends.
Our Vacation Care Service also offers a full range of activities, including incursions and multiple excursions.

Children are transported to and from the service by a Riverwood Community Centre bus.
Hours of Operation:
Before School Care: 7:00am to 9:30am.
After School Care: 2:30pm to 6:00pm.
Vacation Care: 7:00am to 6:00pm.
Riverwood Youth Service began as a Friday afternoon Drop In service that provided a safe and friendly environment for young people to connect with their peers and Youth Workers. It has since grown to a five day a week service that now offers other services such as casework, advocacy, educational services, as well as the Drop In program.
In addition to Drop In, Riverwood Youth Service operates Monday to Friday providing support to young people aged 12-17 years who reside within Riverwood and surrounding areas.
Young people requiring support and assistance may be referred to the service, or can self refer by contacting the Youth Service on 9533 0100.
All services are free to young people. Male and Female Youth Workers are available to offer support and can assist young people with issues such as: Homelessness, Alcohol and other Drugs, Gambling, Court Support, Cross Cultural and Intergenerational Problems at School, Trouble with Police, problems at Home, Bullying, Sexual Health, Resumes and letters.
Drop In Centre
The Drop In service provides young people with access to recreational activities within a safe and supportive environment.
The Drop In service operates on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 3pm to 6pm during school terms. Drop In activities include: Music, Basketball, Gym, Pool, Computer Games, Internet, Team Sports and weekly free BBQ’s. Drop In hours may change during
The Drop In service is staffed by qualified and experienced youth workers.
The service provides an activity program during school holidays Young people contributed suggestions of what they would like to do and where they would like to go. These ideas and suggestions formed the basis of the holiday programs designed by the Youth team.
Young people can come to the Centre to use the internet for research, for their study assignments, to access Drug and Alcohol information programs, create a resume or learn about other services that help young people.
